The first couples counselling session
Coming to couples counselling is a big step and and you may both feel vulnerable and exposed. The first session gives you the chance to assess whether you want to work with me.
I usually explain my approach to couples counselling and do my best to answer any questions you may have. You will have the chance to say what you both need to get out of counselling.
Afterwards you may want a few days to think about whether to work with me. Or you may make your decision there and then.
We’ll usually meet every fortnight for 75 minutes at my practice in Chsiwick. This gives you both enough time to process each session and practice new ways of being together.
During your couples counselling sessions we’ll identify what seems to working well in your relationship, where weaknesses lie, and identify problematic patterns. With this understanding, we can work out ways to improve your relationship.
How many couples counselling sessions?
6-8 sessions can be enough for many couples to get a better understanding of their problematic ways of relating and finding better ways of being together.
At each session we’ll check that you’re getting what you need from the sessions and adjust our work accordingly.
Paying for sessions
You can pay for sessions on the day by cash, debit card, credit card, or cheque. You can also make direct transfers to my account via your online bank.
Or you can make an online payment now.
